Whose relentless need for such drove his behavior that many consider to be evil; his legacy is how he psychologically raped his victims, and destroyed reputations and career for his pleasure.

The members of the Avoca Board of Education

whose unethical actions as Sloan's puppets, intent on their self-serving agendas, brought the sleaziest of politics to our attention.

We thank these administrators, whose hubris, Machiavellian philosophy, and Draconian methods of control inspired us to undertake the battle against teacher abuse and school corruption, and gave us the passion and energy to found NAPTA.

Those who chose school administration as their profession because of the possibilities for kickbacks, special deals, power trips, and control, can thank the above-mentioned administrators for inspiring us to work to expose the terrorist-mentality of many leaders in education, thereby ending the spoils system that is a scandalous part of American education. The above, with their insatiable greed, took this disturbing behavior to such heights, they truly inspired us to dedicate our lives to do this work.

ALTHOUGH A HUMOROUS APPROACH TO SUCH A SERIOUS TOPIC MAY SEEM INAPPROPRIATE TO SOME, MANY OF US WHO HAVE HAD TO ENDURE MISTREATMENT AT THE HANDS OF ABUSIVE ADMINISTRATORS ARE LEFT WITH LITTLE ELSE TO AVOID SINKING INTO DARKNESS. WE HAVE SOUGHT JUSTICE IN COURTS, BUT HAVE BEEN DENIED AND HAVE NOTHING MORE THAN THE COURT OF PUBLIC OPINION UPON WHICH TO RELY. THE TRUTH NEEDS TO BE OUT THERE AND SOMETIMES THE BEST WAY TO ACCOMPLISH THIS IS TO STATE THE RAW TRUTH WHILE USING HUMOR TO HELP EASE THE PAIN.

SOME MAY THINK WE SHOULD NOT SPEAK NEGATIVELY OF THOSE WHO HAVE HARMED US. UNFORTUNATELY, WE WITNESSED AND ENDURED THE BEHAVIOR DESCRIBED BELOW AND CONSTANTLY HEAR ABOUT OTHER TEACHERS ENDURING THE SAME. SADLY IT IS VERY TRUE THAT NAPTA EXISTS BECAUSE WHAT WE EXPERIENCED WAS SO OVERWHELMINGLY DISGRACEFUL. WHAT THIS PAGE REPRESENTS IS THAT OUT OF DEPRAVITY COMES OPPORTUNITY. IF NOT FOR OUR ADMINISTRATORS' OUTRAGEOUS ABUSE OF POWER WE WOULD NOT HAVE HAD THE PASSION TO START AN ORGANIZATION THAT HAS BEEN AN UPHILL BATTLE, REQUIRING MORE FAITH THAN MOST CAN MUSTER GIVEN THE POWERLESSNESS OF TEACHERS.

ALTHOUGH I CANNOT SPEAK FOR ALL OF OUR MEMBERS, I CAN PERSONALLY SAY THAT I HAVE FORGIVEN THE ADMINISTRATORS AND SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS WHO HAVE HARMED ME, MY STUDENTS, PARENTS AND TAXPAYERS. BUT FORGIVENESS DOES NOT MEAN WHAT THEY DID WAS OKAY OR THAT IT DOES NOT MATTER IF IT STOPS. IT DOES MATTER! NOR CAN I FORGIVE FOR THE OTHERS HARMED. MANY PEOPLE ARE BEING HARMED AT THIS VERY MOMENT. THUS WE CANNOT STOP SPEAKING OF WHAT MUST BE ERADICATED FROM OUR SOCIETY.

EVERY WEEK I RECEIVE EMAILS AND PHONE CALLS FROM NEW DISTRAUGHT TEACHERS AND PARENTS MAKING COMMENTS SUCH AS I WISH I WOULD JUST SLEEP AND NOT WAKE UP FROM THIS NIGHTMARE. I HEAR ABOUT TEACHERS OR SOCIAL WORKERS REMOVED FROM THEIR POSITIONS AND TOLD THEY CANNOT SPEAK WITH THEIR STUDENTS, LEAVING THESE STUDENTS FEELING DESERTED BY SOMEONE THEY TRUSTED, WHICH COULD HAVE A LIFELONG IMPACT. IT IS HEART WRENCHING TO KNOW THAT THE CHILDREN WHO DEPEND ON US CANNOT DEPEND ON US BECAUSE THOSE IN POWER CAN BEHAVE ANY WAY THEY CHOOSE. AND IT IS UNIMAGINABLE THAT THIS IS HAPPENING IN AMERICA. BUT IT IS. AND IT IS UNIMAGINABLE THAT THIS IS HAPPENING IN AMERICA. BUT IT IS.

(AMAZINGLY, WHEN I PROOFREAD THIS PIECE, I DISCOVERED THAT SOMEHOW I MISTAKENLY REPEATED THE SENTENCE ABOVE. I DID NOT INTEND TO REPEAT IT, BUT WHEN I DISCOVERED THIS MISTAKE, I DECIDED TO LEAVE IT IN SINCE A HIGHER POWER MUST HAVE MADE THAT HAPPEN. I AM MERELY A VESSEL FOR THIS WORK. A HIGHER POWER HAS PLACED ME IN THIS POSITION BECAUSE TEACHER ABUSE MUST STOP. IT HAS HORRIFIC EFFECTS AND TOPS THE LIST OF BEHAVIORS THAT INFLICT SHAME ON OUR SOCIETY SINCE IT IS NOTHING MORE THAN INSTITUTIONALIZED CHILD ABUSE. )

TEACHER ABUSE MUST STOP. HIDING PAST RECORDS OF ABUSIVE ADMINISTRATORS MUST STOP. UNTIL WE CAN FIND A BETTER WAY, WE MUST USE HUMOR AND TRUTH AND HOPE THAT THOSE WITH THE POWER TO STOP THIS WILL DO SO. I ONLY WISH THIS WERE NOT TRUE AND DID NOT NEED TO BE SAID AS EVEN THE MOST ABUSIVE ADMINISTRATORS AND BOARDS ARE PEOPLE WHO DESERVE THE RESPECT THEY DENY OTHERS. THEY HAVE MERELY LOST THEIR WAY MOSTLY BECAUSE THE CHECKS AND BALANCES - the MEDIA, THE LEGISLATURE AND THE COURTS - HAVE LOST THEIR WAY TOO.
